Violinist & Educator

Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Mark Mogilevski began studying violin at the age of six. He trained at the Ukrainian State Conservatorium and later at the Moscow University of the Arts. His distinguished career spans decades as a soloist, concertmaster, chamber musician, and educator.Mark has served as concertmaster with leading orchestras including the St Petersburg Philharmonic, Porto Symphony, and Moscow Soloists in France. As a soloist, he has performed in major cities around the world — from Moscow and Paris to Brasilia, Seoul, and Melbourne — and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Yehudi Menuhin, and Yuri Temirkanov.A double prize-winner of the Ukrainian National Competition and second prize recipient at the Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, Mark is internationally recognized for both solo and ensemble performance.As an educator, Mark brings nearly 50 years of teaching experience. He has taught at Kharkiv University of the Arts, St Petersburg Conservatorium, and led masterclasses in the USA, Brazil, Portugal, and France. In Australia, he’s worked with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and taught at VCA, Monash, and the University of Melbourne.Mark’s students have achieved exceptional results — with 100% AMEB exam success rates and many now performing in top orchestras and ensembles worldwide, including the MSO, ACO, and internationally acclaimed groups like the Serafim and Mertz Trios.
